(We are) living at Southbrook which is a semi-rural area. We were grey nomads for nearly ten years, and travelled mostly in the country. We just couldn’t go back to the city again so that’s why we decided to buy a block of land here and build a house.
We’d seen in our travels a couple of other modular home designs and that sort of thing, but we kept coming back to Westbuilt. All their designs and the plans that they had, you couldn’t fault them. And naturally we decided to contact Westbuilt and go and see them down at their factory at Warwick. (We) sat down with Wayne and he asked us what we were looking for in a home, and we told him. He said that they had just done a redesign of an existing house that they had and made it a Federation style with a steeper roof pitch, higher internal ceilings, verandah front and back and that was exactly what we were looking for.
(The house has) verandahs across the front and down to both sides and we’ve got a big deck across the back. It just suited this area and the lifestyle. We look down to the south to the valley down towards Warwick and it’s just a great spot, nice and quiet.
With Westbuilt Homes, you can pick your colours, whatever you want. Internal and external colours and they will do that for you. We chose the colours to match with the area here, the trees and the environment.
The house arrived in two pieces on the back of semi-trailers. They brought them and put them in position with the builders being here, sat them up and that was all done.
The neighbours said: “We went to work in the morning and when we came home there was a house there!” And that’s how simple it is. They built the verandahs across the front and the back after the house was in position. Everything was all done by their tradesmen.

My wife and I are very very happy. It’s our dream home and it’s what we wanted, and we got it.
