This was the first time we had built a home from scratch. We live in Longreach on a long skinny block and none of the local builders wanted to help us create something different. We contacted Westbuilt and Wayne flew out to us which was great. He listened to what we wanted, and that day we started the design process for our custom-built home.
Having a modular home allowed us to design from scratch and have all the things we wanted. The team did a lot of groundwork for us. As it was a custom design, we’d be looking online for fixtures and fittings. Then we’d email the link to Westbuilt, and they’d source it for us. They did a lot of running around!
All the way through, our communication with Westbuilt was very open and streamlined. We would wake up in the middle of the night with an idea and email Westbuilt or ring up with ideas and say “We want to do this. Can we do it?” Nothing was too much trouble, and they would get back to us very quickly.
Not seeing it being built was a good thing as we would have been a builder’s nightmare – asking questions or making constant changes! Westbuilt sent us regular updates and posted progress videos on Facebook. That was great as on one of the videos we picked up something that needed to be changed and it was done straight away.
When our home was being delivered, we watched it all and didn’t have to get involved. It was awesome! We chose local plumbers and electricians to connect the services and they dealt directly with Westbuilt. The build started at the factory in March 2020, and we moved into our beautiful home in September.
Westbuilt’s service was second to none. Everyone on the team was easy to get along with and willing to help, offer advice or talk with us about what had worked in the past, and what hadn’t.
If we were looking to build again, we’d definitely go with Westbuilt.
